Since 2008, the synergy between Upfest and Nacoa has flourished into an opportunity to take the charity’s work onto the streets of Bristol, to recruit new volunteers and to reach out to everyone who needs help and support in the City in which it resides.
The Nacoa Upfest partnership has raised over £30,000 but Upfest is more than the money raised, it’s about being part of a community with a common goal to reduce the suffering of some of the most vulnerable children in the UK today.
Upfest delivers a unique platform for new artists to break onto the urban art scene in Bristol, which is universally considered to be the heartland of urban art thanks to Banksy.
Talented artists travel from 25 counties and across the UK to paint live on 30,000 square feet of surfaces in front of 25,0000 visitors. The affordable art sale, music stages and art workshops round off a visually spectacular weekend, including rap lessons for children with local rap artist Gimson.
We need volunteers for a huge variety of roles over the weekend of Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July, and Monday 25 July which has become children’s day. To find out more about how you can help us to raise much needed funds and increase awareness in a creative setting, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0117 924 8005.
Upfest is something you should do at least once in your life. For more about the Nacoa Upfest partnership, please see: https://youtu.be/pYNa9sVXZs4/ and have fun in a Nacoa t-shirt!
