Giselle braves Bear Grylls survival course

Giselle Mannering is tackling a 24 hour survival course in the wilds of Dartmoor to raise awareness of the daily struggles faced by millions of children living with parental addiction.

Giselle herself survived a childhood cut short by the scourge of a parent’s drink problem, discovering her mother’s body alone at the age of 19.

She understands the shame and stigma children experience of growing up in an unpredictable, often violent and abusive environment, suffering in silence, feeling alone and living under a perpetual blanket of loneliness, inconsistency and sadness which can lead to anxiety and depression.

Giselle is challenging herself to complete this intense survival course in the harsh and unforgiving landscape of world famous Dartmoor national park (where Britain’s Royal Marine Commandos train) to raise funds for Nacoa. Show your support on her fundraising page.
