We were very proud and excited to attend the Ideal Home Show last weekend to meet and greet the winner of our big JJ Adams auction. Our winner won one of only three prints of JJ Adams artwork for Mumford and Sons’ EP, Johannesburg, which was signed by both the band and Adams.
JJ Adams expressed his enthusiasm for the work Nacoa does and said that he came across our work when watching the recent In Therapy episode featuring Nacoa patron, Calum Best. (Click here to watch the moving and poignant account of Calum’s experience of growing up in the shadow of his father’s drinking.) Adams said that the topic was close to his heart and has said that he would like to raise more awareness and funds for Nacoa in the future through his work.
For a a small charity like us, these kinds of donations make a huge difference. A donation like this can keep the helpline running for several weeks. But we also don’t underestimate that an endorsement from such a world-renowned artist helps us to reach out to young people feeling like they are on their own and let them know that Nacoa is here to help.
If you would like to raise funds for Nacoa, please do be in touch on firstname.lastname@example.org or check out our Get Involved page by clicking here. Last year Nacoa received over 32,000 calls. Every penny of Nacoa goes directly to making sure those phone calls are answered and help our young callers know they are not alone.
