Calum Best ‘Boxing with the Stars’ for Nacoa

Jake Wood, Spencer Oliver and Calum Best are introducing the punchiest Nacoa fundraising event of 2018. To raise funds and awareness for all children affected by a parent’s drink problems, Eastenders actor Jake Wood has teamed up with Nacoa Patron and TV star Calum Best to organise an exclusive boxing match at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Calum will be stepping in to the ring to take on his yet unconfirmed opponent on 23rd March 2018, and we cannot wait. More details will emerge closer to the date. However, you can get your early tickets by emailing

Jake Wood, the actor behind the irrepressible character Max Branning on UK soap favourite Eastenders, started Boxing with the Stars in 2017 as a way to raise funds for charities close to his heart. It follows from hugely successful events last year raising funds for the Isabel Hospice, where Wood said it was ‘great to give something back’.

Nacoa’s CEO, Hilary Henriques, said that ‘We are thrilled to be chosen by Calum to be his charity for Boxing with the Stars 2018. Calum has been a patron of Nacoa for 10 years now, and has been a tireless campaigner raising awareness for the problems faced by children affected by a parent’s drinking. Using his prominence in the media, he has helped millions know they are not alone.’

While promoting his new line of fitness planners, Best Me Life, Calum is also doing Dry January in 2018 (abstaining from alcohol for the whole month)—again raising vital funds to support our helpline, which in 2017 received over 30,000 requests for help.

Even if you can’t make it to London’s glamorous Royal Lancaster Hotel for the night, you can still join in and support the event.

We will be very grateful for any prize donations for the glitzy charity auction. Enquiries about corporate sponsorship opportunities are also welcomed.  To get your tickets or offer support for what will be a ‘knock-out’ of a charitable night out, please email
