Helpline supervisor

Abie Dunlop

Abie completed a BSc in Psychology in 2017 at the University of Bristol. She went on to complete an MSc in Health Psychology in 2018. After searching for volunteering opportunities during her degree, she came across Nacoa. While reading about the work Nacoa does, she was compelled to become involved and help people struggling with their parent’s drinking.

She became a Volunteer Helpline Counsellor in 2015, and two years later she became a Helpline Supervisor. She supports callers on the Nacoa helpline and supports Volunteer Helpline Counsellors in their shifts on the helpline.

You are not alone

Remember the Six "C"s

I didn’t cause it
I can’t control it
I can’t cure it
I can take care of myself
I can communicate my feelings
I can make healthy choices
