Addiction is unacceptable and unfair

Addiction - in my life 
It has caused me so much friction 
It is unacceptable and unfair 
At times my father has hid his unpredictability to most 
Leaving us his children to be the main host 
Attempts to break family positivity with SILENCE 
As an adult I have reflected that I do now feel sorry for his lonely life 
But wish he would treat me like a daughter 
And stop causing me strife 
He only appears to feel grand with that pint in his hand I am unsure why you wish for me to witness such bitterness 
When I know ultimately you have a softer side 
Again, I say, it is unacceptable and unfair.
