Big Nacoa Walk is back! 3rd May 2025
The Big Nacoa Walk is back for 2025! Be the first to attempt the ‘Seven Edges Challenge’, a brand new walk for this year.
A beautiful 22.5 mile trek through the Manifold Valley and Dovedale in the Derbyshire Peak District. All in aid of children affected by a parent’s drinking.
We will traverse seven stunning edges: Derwent Edge, Stanage Edge, Burbage Edge (Upper), Burbage Edge (Lower), Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge, Baslow Edge, Blackstone Edge and Birchin Edge.
Other notable highlights include theDerwent Reservoir (where the Dambusters practiced), Lost Lad rocks, Robin Hood’s Cave on Stanage Edge, Wellington’s Monument, Nelson’s Monument and Chatsworth Park.
It means the world to Nacoa to get this event back on the road after its momentous return in 2023. It is special, more than just a wonderful team fundraising event.
50 places are available for this year’s one day walk on the 3rd May 2025. Sign up quickly to catch the last few spaces.
The walk was stunning and the atmosphere was amazing and supportive. I’ve never been so moved by a fundraising event in my whole life!

The Big Nacoa Walk
This year, the Big Nacoa Walk route is being planned by friends at Team Walking, who will provide their expert guided experience on the day.
The journey is 33 km (21 miles) – 400 metres of ascent – taking 10 hours overall.
7:30am: Meet at Hartington, Peak District.
8am – 6pm: Fully guided walk around the White Peak Hike challenge
6pm: Debrief back at Hartington Hall, followed by food and badge presentation
Starting and finishing in the lovely village of Hartington, the route takes in the very best of the Manifold Valley, with its famous caves and limestone tors, before reaching the beautiful village of Ilam. Our route then follows the River Dove northwards through stunning Dovedale, with ancient woodland and towering limestone crags, back to Hartington.
