Why AlphaBiolabs are proud to support Nacoa

AlphaBiolabs provide a wide range of legal alcohol testing services to local authorities, the family law sector and other organisations involved in child welfare.

Our UK network of sample collectors see first-hand the effects that excessive drinking can have on children and families.

Unfortunately, many of these vulnerable families have also been hardest hit by the pandemic. Recent figures suggest that the series of lockdowns has led to increased alcohol consumption across the country while, in many cases, the charities that work so hard to support affected families have suffered from a lack of funding.

We recognise that charities such as Nacoa are a vital lifeline for those impacted by addiction issues and alcohol dependence. However, reduced funding combined with a greater demand for their services has left them struggling to support those who need them most.

At AlphaBiolabs, we knew we wanted to help, which is why we recently launched our Giving Back campaign. Every time we receive a legal instruction for DNA, drug, or alcohol testing, we will donate £5 across four charities, including Nacoa. All four of the charities we have chosen help vulnerable young people and families affected by alcohol and drug use.

We sincerely hope that our charity partnership with Nacoa will support the organisation’s important work with the children of alcoholics and we look forward to working with Nacoa throughout 2021 and beyond.
