Nacoa will once again lead International #COAWeek2021 (14 – 20 February 2021), the annual awareness campaign casting a light on the 1 in 5 children across the UK who are struggling to live with a parent who drinks too much.
This year’s events include:
Premiere of Ceri Walker’s ‘Understanding COAs in Lockdown’, followed by a Q&A
730pm – 9pm, Sunday 14 February
After the amazing feedback for her last premiere screening, Ceri is back by popular demand with a new ‘Understanding COAs’ film, with a whole new cast of COAs sharing their personal experiences.

These COA Words with Cherie Lunghi
730pm – 9pm, Monday 15 February
A very special celebrity guest will chair this special evening of poetry and literature, written for and about children of alcoholics. A host of amazing writers will perform their writing, leading to open and honest general discussions. Based around the fantastic book of COA words compiled by Jess Dawson, Paper Therapy.

Lunchtime Lives with Toby Williams

A very special #COAWeek2021 edition of our #LunchtimeLives series.

This World for COAs – A live international panel of champions for children affected by parental addiction

Very excited to convene an international group of experts, researchers and leaders for children affected by their parent’s drinking or a similar substance.

David Stafford Memorial Lecture 2021
730pm – 930pm, Thursday 18 February
Camilla Tominey will deliver the keynote speech at this year’s COA Week lecture. Josh Connolly will also lead a ‘in conversation’ round table discussion with Sophie K, radio DJ, and Calum Best, TV star, and David Coldwell, boxing trainer. Liam Byrne MP will also attend to give a special update on the state of parliamentary support for children affected by their parent’s drinking.

Lunchtime Lives with Jonathan Ashworth
12pm – 1245pm, Friday 19 February
Today 12pm we welcome @JonAshworth onto #LunchtimeLives. Our𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚 interview programme with by @josh_ffw on Insta. Jonathan is a true champion for children affected by their parent’s drinking. There is so much to discuss: personal, political and beyond.

12pm-1pm, Sunday 21 February
Join Yoga Tess for an Instagram Live yoga session to close 2021 COA week. 12pm Sunday 21st February.
An all ability movement class to stretch and ease on a Sunday. Tess is a BWY Trained Teacher so you will be taught in a safe and staged way. You do not have to have any Yoga experience to join in, and minimal equipment will be used.
